A major power utility needed to configure their environment, operational processes and data for multi-site operations to accommodate plans for bringing a new hydroelectric generating facility online. It was desired to also upgrade Maximo from a previous release to version 6.2 and address deficiencies in the company’s interface to their Solomon accounting system.

Genesis Role

Genesis provided expert consultation services to review current processes and data structure, and advised the customer regarding multi-site considerations. Two Senior Systems Analysts served to perform system configuration and migrate existing data into Maximo 6.2 and develop a new accounting interface.

Actions Taken

  • Reviewed existing processes and advised adaptations for multi-site environment
  • Mapped existing data for migration into multi-site Maximo 6.2 implementation
  • Developed and executed data migration tools
  • Confirmed proper data population in core and ancillary tables
  • Designed, prototyped, developed and implemented a new interface from Maximo 6.2 to Solomon for payroll and payables data
  • Provided hands-on user training on new processes and considerations

Results Achieved

  • Maximo was successfully upgraded to version 6.2
  • The data were successfully migrated and data integrity for multi-site operations confirmed
