This major municipal airport had contracted the turnkey installation of Maximo 5.2, received minimal training, and had no resident technical expertise upon turnover. Airport personnel had developed inadequate business processes and supporting reports to effectively utilize Maximo.

Genesis Role

Genesis’s objectives were to focus on optimizing the MAXIMO 5.2 application for the maintenance operations division to ensure effective Work Management, Materials Management, and Procurement practices and reporting.  In addition, the scope included the providing system administration training and knowledge transfer to allow enhanced in-house support. GenesisSolutions provided Principal and Senior Consultants as well as a System Architect.

Actions Taken

Genesis personnel identified the steps necessary to utilize the MAXIMO 5.2 application effectively to satisfy the airport objectives. The process was structured to include complete and direct involvement with the airport team. This included:

  • facilitated Business Process Review (BPR) and Requirements Definition (RD) sessions that outlined the existing processes, workflows, and airport requirements to enhance maintenance operations,
  • facilitated System Administration and IT Training related to the MAXIMO application and database structures,
  • provided an overview of the steps and toolsets to migrate data from external sources into MAXIMO.

Results Achieved

  • GenesisSolutions generated a master document capturing all relative information from the BPR and RD sessions.
  • Configured and setup the MAXIMO 5.2 application per the airport team-approved Business Requirements.
  • Developed or modified 5 Actuate Reports
  • Conducted end-user training sessions for the Work Management and Materials Management areas.
