Tucson Electric Power: Maximo 7.1 Upgrade
GenesisSolutions Completes Project Objectives
Tucson Electric Power (TEP) Maximo 7.1 Upgrade Project Goals
The main objective of this project was to upgrade Maximo from v4.0.1 to v7.1, and to implement the Maximo Calibration Manager within the TEP Power Generation business unit. GenesisSolutions responded to a public RFP for the total implementation of Maximo 7.1 with an interface to Oracle financials and the development of predefined custom applications.
Why GenesisSolutions Was Selected
TEP was very impressed with GenesisSolutions understanding of the requirements and proposed approach, our understanding of the functionality of Maximo 7.1, and our proposed solution to upgrading from Maximo 4.1 to 7.1. GenesisSolutions was also rated highly on the following categories:
- Timely response to TEP requirements and instructions
- Detailed Project Implementation Plan and Schedule
- Total Cost of Implementation
- Evidence of Strong Organization and Project Management Practices
What were the results?
GenesisSolutions was selected as the implementation partner and started the project in late August of 2009. Genesis was able to meet the established project milestones by working through the predefined project plan and adhering to the established time line. GenesisSolutions received major contributions from their consulting staff, particularly Steve Santoro who was deployed in the dual role of Technical Lead and Project Manager, and David Pitman who completed the role of Functional Lead and accepted the responsibility of Work Flow development, training and project financial tracking. Other key players included: Joe Davis (Maximo Customization), Walter Betsill (Data Migration), Jim Shope (BIRT Reports) and Chad Bring (System Testing). GenesisSolutions and Tucson Electric Power are on the path of completing the project on time and under budget. The triangle of project management - Time, Scope and Cost - has been successfully completed thanks to the outstanding efforts of the project management team consisting of Steve Santoro & David Pitman.
