Principal Consultant

Summary:

A Principal Consultant works as a consulting team member or an individual consultant on project implementation, integration, enhancement or other projects assigned.  Duties are usually performed at a customer site.  This person works under minimal supervision on mid to large-sized tasks and projects involving multiple products or platforms. The Principal Consultant will often take a lead role on the project team.

Possible project responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the Project Lead to the consulting team including developing project plans, assigning tasks to project resources, and preparing weekly status reports on specific objectives;
  • On-site implementation of complex computerized maintenance management systems like Maximo and related user training;
  • Providing functional knowledge of a CMMS system like Maximo or SAP to assist the customer in leveraging these systems to their full potential in the industrial environment;
  • Development of project site assessment including analysis of customer business requirements and application objectives;
  • Leading or participating in periodic status checks with customers and team to assess progress against plan;
  • And developing or assisting in developing and refining forecasts for project variables as necessary throughout the project.

Basic requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience with asset maintenance, project management, program development, and CMMS/ERP systems like Maximo, SAP or Infor/Datastream.
  • 3+ years of experience with the CMMS implementation process.
  • General knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server database platforms and familiarity with various customer-server software, legacy systems, and Internet technologies (HTML, Java, etc).
  • Ideal candidates would have the conceptual and cognitive skills to formulate solutions for customer issues and communicate those solutions using business development skills.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Previous consulting experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of maintenance operations including material management and work flow.
